Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is an American multinational holding company based in Omaha, Nebraska. It functions as a diversified conglomerate whose subsidiaries participate in many industries, including insurance, freight rail transportation, energy generation and distribution, miscellaneous services, manufacturing and retail. The company is synonymous with celebrity investor Warren Buffett, who serves as chairman and chief executive.
